Using nontechnical language so as to reach "the whole range of American citizens,'' it was written "not in a defeatist spirit,'' but in hopes of realistically examining the promises & perils of atomic energy. The author was a Navy man who had served in the war & went on to be a Princeton professor. 116 pages. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1947, this small octavo has light gray cloth-covered boards stamped with red lettering to spine.
