Item description from seller

Exceptionally scarce and somewhat bizarre novel, ostensibly set in the London suburb and described by Hackney History magazine as a " narrative concerning deposed royalty from the Baltic region, secreted in the precinct of a mysterious factory" featuring "a syndicate devoted to placing nominees on vacant European thrones, and some energetic goat-worship". Standard fare for this part of North London then. Spotting early and late, otherwise all in clean and bright order. Some pages have been opened roughly with resulting tears/ loss, but this doesn't affect text. Some pages remain unopened. Plate to front pastedown notes that this copy was included in the Sotheby's Chatsworth 'Attic Sale' of October 2010. Decorated tan boards worn to edges and rubbed to front panel, less so to spine, with bright gilt titling. 12mo. 320pp.

Store description

Formerly known as Journobooks, our original speciality was books about journalism, journalists, newspapers, magazines and other media (hence the old name) and we still have a great stock of hard-to-find books in that field. Over time we have added a wide variety of other collectible gems some of which we sell on behalf of the charity Friends of Morston Church (reg.1099831). Our goal is to offer the best value for money on Abebooks, ie. the lowest price for the condition of the book. We love buying and selling books, so will try to make your buying experience as easy and pleasant as possible.…
