Hardback, bound in the original green cloth with printed titling to spine and upper board. 16.5 x10.5cm, xi + 282pp. Published in the early years of the Great War, this title by Jesuit priest Charles Plater, was written to provide a moral and ethical framework for understanding war and international relations from a Catholic perspective, exploring the concept of a "Just War" and the moral duties of nations toward one another. Contents: Part One - International Morality in General, Part Two - Morality and War, Part Three - Efforts Towards Peace, Part Four - Historical (this last section examines morality and war from the New Testament through to the Middle Ages). Condition: This copy is in very good condition for age, with just a little dulling to the spine. Previous owner's inoffensive name to the ffep.
