Review
Bound in a wire binder and divided into six sections separated by coloured flip tabs, readers can refer directly to areas of interest by flipping to the tab that corresponds to the subject, making it easy to find desired information. Subject areas include Conception; Health and Diet; Exercise and Relaxation; Antenatal Care, Labour and Birth; You and Your Baby and Your Personal File. The section titled "Your Personal File" allows you to document important milestones during your pregnancy. Each section ends with a list of reminders summarising each topic--useful for busy mothers-to-be who don't have time to re-read an entire chapter.
In addition to its unique format, Pregnancy from Conception to Birth includes helpful photographic illustrations. It's much easier to understand how to perform an antenatal exercise when you have a visual explanation. The book also has other interesting features, including in- depth discussions on when women ovulate, how hormones affect a pregnancy and designing a birth plan. --Abbe Jacobson
