Hardcover. Pre-Raphaelites in Love. Slightly rolled spine. Underlining and notes in margin in pencil to some pages. A tremendously engaging account of the turbulent relationships between the Pre-Raphaelite painters and the models who seemed to embody their dreams. In this ambitious and immensely readable book, the author draws on a wealth of original diaries and letters to reveal the complex, stormy, and extraordinarily binding relationships between these arists and the women they loved. The result is a vivid, intimate group portrait unlike any we have had before. Compelling as these stories are in themselves, together they make up a provocative exploration of marriage, of the challenges inherent in intimacy, and of the fragile kinship between romance and inspiration. Illustrations. 468 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.)
