Item description from seller

xi, [3], 269, [3] p. Notes. Index. From a George Mason University on-line faculty posting: "Edward Rhodes s research investigates core questions of American foreign and national security policy and of international behavior. A principal focus of his work has been on the intellectual foundations of America s engagement with the world outside its borders, particularly on the effect of alternative understandings of liberalism, democracy, and republicanism in shaping American attitudes toward intervention and global involvement. Prior to joining George Mason University, Ed was a member of the faculty of Rutgers University, serving as founding Director of the Rutgers Center for Global Security and Democracy and as Dean of the Social and Behavioral Sciences. From 2007 to 2009, he was a visiting professor at Princeton University, and has held research appointments at Harvard, Stanford, and Cornell Universities. As a fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations, Ed served in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Strategy and Concepts branch of the U.S. Navy Staff. From 2000 to 2001, he posted overseas as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Latvia. From 2003 to 2009, Ed served on the State Department s Advisory Committee on Historical Diplomatic Documentation, the Congressionally-mandated body overseeing the preparation and release of the official record of American foreign policy. Ed received his A.B. from Harvard University and his MPA and Ph.D. degrees from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University." Very good in very good dust jacket. Pencil erasure residue on fep. DJ has slight wear and soiling.
