First printing, 1983. Bright, clean & tight copy, unread, in AS NEW condition. "Ms. Perloff's case is seductively and persuasively argued; her writing is by turns luminous, impassioned, and instructive. The essays on Rimbaud and John Ashbery are among my favorites in this highly intriguing book."--The Antioch Review. "Her approach pays especially handsome dividends when it comes to such frequently misunderstood writers as Gertrude Stein and John Ashbery."--The American Book Review. "THE POETICS OF INDETERMINACY will help academics revise the canon of modernism. Not only does Perloff rescue important writers from the fringe, but she also reevaluates the work of celebrated writers."--Contemporary Literature. Pristine paperback's cover features the Paul Klee drawing 'Phantom's Oath,' brilliant corners & crisp edges, a square & tight binding w/no creases in spine.
