Iscrizione manoscritta di privato alla prima carta. Raccolta di versi pubblicati una volta che Dolci fu scarcerato dopo 50 giorni di prigione tra febbraio e marzo del 1956. Il volume � diviso in tre sezioni: �Quattro ricercari� e le 20 poesie del �Frammenti del poema� (divisi a loro volta in due parti), le ultime tre delle quali sono scritte in dialetto siciliano. Si percepisce una forte coesione interna nelle sezioni: i quattro ricercari sono modellati sui ricercari barocchi (un tipo particolare di composizione barocca caratterizzata da una fuga), e per ciascuna Dolci specifica il numero di voci in campo, mentre i �Frammenti del poema� dialogano tra loro da un componimento all altro.
