The Pledge' by Friedrich Durrenmatt. This book is a Penguin Crime first edition, published in 1964. First published in 1958, this is the Penguin Crime first edition. A handsome copy in bright, unfaded covers. The front cover bears striking cover art by George Mayhew. Very good edges and tips with a sliver of rub to top front tip. Equally solid, straight, unbroken spine which is not faded and which has a little wear to bottom. Book appears unread. Contents: lightly age toned otherwise clean and unmarked. This harrowing novel was filmed twice. Jack Nicholson appeared in the 2001 film, produced by Sean Penn. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.
