L'esposizione intende rifare il percorso che ha portato la donna, modella per artisti, dall'anonimato e quindi dai margini della società e dalla cultura, al centro dell'attenzione dei pittori e della vita artistica europea, a partire dall'epoca neoclassica ino agli anni '60 del Novecento. Questo itinerario consente di ripercorrere la storia dell'arte europea dell'800 e del '900 con un particolare taglio storico-critico, osservando come sia mutato lo sguardo degli artisti e la loro stessa percezione del mondo. Se Canova entra, per così dire, in punta di piedi nello spazio riservato della "modella", sono i pittori romantici a dichiarare apertamente che la vita privata deve avere un posto di primo piano nella vita e nell'opera dell'artista, agganciandosi così al mito di Raffaello e della Fornarina che diventa un motivo ricorrente e spiana a riprese ben più motivate e di carattere più realistico. L'itinerario della mostra accompagna così il visitatore negli spazi dell'atelier che si aprono all'occhio curioso e a volte anche indiscreto di chi intende avvicinarsi alla vita degli artisti e del mondo femminile che ruota attorno a loro. Un peso rilevante nel percorso espositivo è dedicato, ovviamente, a Picasso, il pittore che più di ogni altro ha trattato il tema, durante tutta la sua attività. Dipinti e incisioni in gran numero attestano l'interesse di Picasso, dalla Suite Vollard negli anni '30 ino agli anni '50 e primi '60 quando l'artista ha avviato il grande ciclo Le peintre et son modele, a partire dal confronto con Le déjeuner sur l'herbe di Manet, di cui saranno esposti alcuni esempi importanti accanto alle prove grafiche. If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
