First edition, first state with the publisher's 5th Avenue address. Fine copy in near very good dust jacket with the usual splitting at the folds and small chips, but for this title, a better than usual copy. First edition of Pound's most important later work, and the most moving portion of his long poem-in-progress, written while in a prison camp near Pisa. *The Pisan Cantos* was awarded the first annual Bollingen Prize for poetry in 1949.
