65 pp + 23 sepia photographs. Assumed 1st. A lovely book, with some history, "modern" facts (circa 1880) and wonderful crisp photographic plates of the Pine Tree State. Charming decorated chapter headings and floral tail pieces. Brown embossed ribbed cloth with briliant Victorian gilt to the cover, corners and edges bit rubbed, spine tips fraying, first hinge cracked, back hinge starting, 1884 owner's inscription and his notations of birth and death dates of Thoreau, Emerson, etc at the introduction. Bit of foxing and age to the pages but otherwise clean and nice. ; 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall; 65 pages. Seller Inventory # 001136
