A very scarce work, with all three parts of the Princess Victoria Series of the 'Pictures in the Dulwich Gallery' bound in a single straight grain morocco binding.With the publisher's original front wrap present.Part I illustrated with twelve plates, part II with twelve plates, and part III with fourteen plates. Collated, complete.Deaccessioned from the Sir John Soane Museum Library, with their label to the front free endpaper, and verso of front wrap, their blind stamp to first few leaves, and their inscription to the head of each title page.Undated; dated 1910-1912 via the British library.A wonderful study of a selection of the artworks present at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, which opened to the public in 1817 and was designed by the Regency architect Sir John Soane. It is the oldest public art gallery in England. In a straight grain morocco binding, with the publisher's original front wrap bound in. Significant rubbing and losses of calf to back strip. Joints starting, with front board just a touch tender, and rear board firmly held. Front free endpaper and front wrap detached and loosely inserted. Library blind stamps and labels to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Handling marks throughout. Library blind stamps to one or two leaves, with inscriptions to head of title pages. Good Only.
