Very Good hardcover with black cloth to the spine with wear to the tips and light shelf wear including some small scratches and a short pen mark to the back; the interior is clean and bright; lacking dj but including a custom-made acetate jacket. BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, IN A BOX. The second Babar book by Jean de Brunhoff's son, Laurent, out of print since the 1960s due to its caricatured depiction of Africans as "savages." Written and illustrated by Laurent de Brunhoff. SIGNED BY DE BRUNHOFF on the title page; no inscription. 40 pages; color illustrations throughout + decorated endpapers; 10.5 x 14.5 inches.
