Full period straight grain burgundy morocco, backs in five compartments, gilt lettered in the second and forth, dense gilt ornamentation in the rest, four gilt roll tooled bands, gilt double fillet border on both sides enclosing wide gilt roll tooled frame and blind roll tooled panel, gilt turn ins, gilt board edges, all edges gilt. Attractive near fine old binding with light wear, volume one old re-back with original back strip laid down. Sheets and plates with some occasional foxing, mostly clean, unmarked, complete.
