First edition. [iv], 139 pp. Publisher's pale pink cloth lettered in crimson. Very Good with sunning to spine cloth, some stains to cloth, small stain to top edge, former owner' name written on front free endpaper. According to a contemporary review, The Annual American Catalogue, this novel is about a mother and daughter who wander Europe under a metaphorical cloud. The daughter finally meets Mr. Right and marries him, but even he cannot truly dissipate her "cloud." Sounds like a slightly unusual late 19th century novel by a female author with perhaps some interesting metaphors about melancholy and contemporary views of female psychology.
