A 10mm tear through covers and through all leaves at margin near one of the staples. Inside of front cover has a small clipping of the phantom taped in by previous owner, "Phantom No. 44" written in ink with bleed-through to front cover, and a star design rubber stamp. Some foxing. Two rubber stamps on rear cover. Protected in mylar sleeve with alkaline buffered acid-free backing board. ; Early New Zealand edition of "The Phantom" comic. Published fortnightly. 20 pages including covers. Cover in portrait format, while the contents are in landscape format. Page dimensions: 248 x 183mm.
