First edition, first impression; with illustrated title page and eleven monochrome plates by F. D. Bedford; lacking one plate. Bound in the publisher's gilt decorative cloth, with Captain Hook illustration to spine and Peter Pan and a mermaid to the front board. The spine ends are a little bumped and worn, resulting in discolouration and a few small splits including a 1.5cm split to the front joint at the head. The gilding is a little faded and rubbed; the boards have the odd small scuff and mark. The corners are bumped and frayed. The front hinge is worn, with evidence of historic repair, and the binding a touch tender throughout. Pages are a little age-toned, with the odd page spotted. 1" tear to page vii of contents, and a small tear to the corner of page 35. A good first edition, first impression of Barrie's highly collectable work. Seller Inventory # PF00512
