346 pages. Rebound in tan cloth with gold stamped lettering on spine. New end leaves in addition to retaining the original end leaves. Signed near bottom of front free end leaf by the authors son, "Chas. Pardee Butler / A chip off the old block / Age 84, last year." Above this inscription is a note from a previous owner that reads "This Book given to / Earl E. Goodwich, Topeka, / by Pardy Butler's son / Charles Pardee Butler, / May 13 - 1942 - on the / old Homestead one mile / southeast of Farmington / Kansas. Charlee traded / with Silas Goodwich / when he ran a store in / Farmington about 1870, / and remembers Judson / and Juline (?)." There is a smudge on the lower edge of the title page and adjacent on the lower edge of the frontispiece image. Overall a very tight copy showing only minimal wear. Seller Inventory # 042978
