Item description from seller
As warfare continues to influence our world today, the study of military history provides one of the only avenues for us to understand past and present conflicts in context. It is fundamentally important to all modern military organizations, since it is central to how they train and prepare their military commanders for the rigours of war. It also adds to the professional knowledge of a soldier. Time for study is always at a premium. There are far too many professional, social and domestic commitments that detract from an officer`s preparation schedule. The problem is even more acute when studying for Military History paper. To facilitate this requirement, the author has distilled the essentials of the syllabus in one volume that can serve as a quick reference book. It is written in an easy to understand language accompanied by simple to comprehend maps. (jacket).
