Item description from seller

8" x 10" 43 pp with B&W illustrations throughout. Charming life story of a Pekinese living in an English country home before and during the First World War,told from a dog's point of view. We learn that Pekenese speak English out of courtesy when with humans but Chinese among themselves, who knew? Text is clean and unmarked. Contemporary illegible dedication on title page. Paper-covered boards are intact but soiled and the paper is cracked at the hinges.
