The Unceasing Belfry is one of the major works of Paruyr Sevak, a prominent Armenian poet of the 20th century. This monumental historical and philosophical poem is dedicated to Komitas Vardapet (1869–1935), the Armenian priest, composer, ethnomusicologist, and collector of Armenian folk songs. Through powerful poetic imagery, Sevak portrays Komitas’s life and artistic legacy against the tragedy of the Armenian Genocide, transforming the image of the belfry into a symbol of national memory, grief, cultural survival, and the enduring voice of the Armenian people. This Armenian-language edition was published by Alik Press in Tehran in 1963 to mark the 90th anniversary of Komitas’s birth. It is a notable example of Armenian literary publishing in the diaspora.
