Suitable for beginners or the more advanced student. This book traces the origins and gradual development of heraldic devices and their meaning from the Norman conquest to the twentieth century. The book also discusses inheritance of Arms, the Arms of Corporate bodies, Regimental Badges and the practical use of heraldry for modern purposes. Near fine condition with tanned andpapers, no inscriptions, boards in fine condition. Unclipped jacket in very good condition, spine dulled, small loss to base of spine, a few other minor chips and creases.
