1947. First Edition. 56 pages. No dust jacket. Beige pictorial boards with a cloth spine. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Staining to rear board. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. First edition, first printing. Original tan cloth with red titles to the spine, light green paper-covered boards with an illustration in brown the the upper board, in dustwrapper. Decorated endpapers. Illustrated throughout with colour plates and black and white line drawings by Nora Hamerton. A near fine copy, the binding square and tight, the boards slightly toned to the extremities. The contents, with a little offsetting to the endpapers, are otherwise clean and bright and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked, price-clipped dustwrapper that has a few tiny closed tears to the edges. A sweet children's story about Malayan family life.
