First edition. 155 pages. Hardcover: H 22.25cm x L 14.75cm. Lacks dust jacket. Dull red cloth with mottling to boards, streaks of light staining at spine head with impression from past owner's now removed personal sticker near spine heel with overlapping impressions onto boards, some dark staining at lower rear board. Edges toned with light stains. Foxing to preliminary and terminal leaves; occasional light foxing to interior text leaves. Binding is firm. A good+ copy of an uncommon book by South African naturalist and herpetologist Frederick W. FitzSimons. With 20 b/w plates including frontispiece on unpaged leaves.
