Handbill certificate (6.75 inches x 8.25 inches). In French. Printed header, with neat manuscript addition, dated 9 June 1762 and signed by La Salle. Verso blank. Faint old folds. This prisoner exchange certificate appears to have been issued at French military headquarters in Germany. The manuscript portion of the certificate reads: Il Est permi a M. De La Roque capitaine aide Major au Regiment de Boulle ci-devant Vatan prisonnier de guerre, de rentrer en fonction, et de Servir comme du passe, devant etre compris dans le premier Echange a Constater. Au Quartier General le 9 Juin 1762. (Signed) Lasalle. English translation: It is permitted that M. de la Roque Adjutant Captain in the Regiment of Boulle and formerly of Vatan a prisoner of war, that he return and serve in his prior function, and be included in the first exchange established. Headquarters, 9 June 1762. (Signed) Lasalle. The Regiment de Bouille was formed in 1761 as part of the 72nd Infantry Regiment of the French ground forces.
