Hamlet post-production screenplay for the 1969 British film adaptation starring Nicol Williamson - seemingly not found in any institutional collection. Foolscap sized paper held together by corroded staples. Rust marks to front cover which is partially detached from the text block. Typescript of c100 pages, mimeograph-printed on the rectos only. Occasional black ink corrections to text. Directed by Tony Richardson, Williamson's Hamlet found a unique solution to the length of Hamlet by including more of Shakespeare's original text even, than Olivier's Hamlet but running it twice as fast, getting the time down under two hours. This post-production script would have been used during the final phase of content editing and versioning the film before its release. We can't locate this script in any institutional collections. Please contact Christian White Rare Books Ltd for more information or images of this item.
