First edition. 8vo. Original 8 1/2" x 11" pictorial wrappers, 40 pp. including covers, illustrated from both photographs and drawings, index. This well-illustrated saddle and tack catalog from one of the most important makers of western harness and saddlery in the world from the 19th through the 20th Century. Founded in 1875 in West Texas, the company opened a shop in Phoenix, AZ around 1898, and even set up a shop for a time in the Washington Territory in 1888. The company became well known for their quality saddles and gun leather, and built and presented the trophy saddle to Lee Anderson in the late 1920?s at the Tucson Rodeo which would serve as the predecessor to the modern roping saddle. This excellent catalog illustrates the offerings of the famed firm of western gear and horse equipment to the ranching interests and working cowboys, and celebrities after World War II during the height of the Mid-Century Western craze. The catalog includes Stock Saddles -- many of them elaborately tooled, some unadorned working saddles, Mexican Stock Saddles, saddle stirrups, saddle blankets, Porter chaps, Porter tack, Crockett bits, lariats, Crocket & Blanchard spurs, along with holsters and tooled belts. Former owner's mailing label affixed to the top edge of the rear cover, covers lightly rubbed, internally clean and a near fine copy.
