16mo. (18 cm.) 29[5]p. [List of] Contributors and Recommended Recent Poetry Publications. Stapled booklet in grey wrappers printed in black. Just a few dings to the extremities, 1/2" split at top of spine with no loss, wrappers ever so lightly soiled, a bit of rust on the staples, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Vol. I, No. I of this important chap-book. "It is an affirmation of faith in the inspirational value of poetry that the Editors of The Poetry Chap-Book launch their magazine at this time. When war engulfs a nation, the need for artistic sustenance becomes greater than ever. The credo of Beauty and Truth, which is poetry, must not be neglected." [from the front matter by the editors] The publisher was Gustav Davidson. This is a rare piece of poetry ephemera.
