First edition. Quarto. Two volumes. Bound in contemporary full vellum, with manuscript titles to spines, and the gilt arms of Sir Thomas Dick Lauder, 7th Baronet (1784–1848) to each cover. A good set, the spine of the second volume quite worn, with splits to the lower joint and across the spine. Burman's classic annotated collection of Latin poets. It includes the Cynegeticon of Grattius Faliscus; the Cynegeticon of Marcus Aurelius, and four eclogues by the same; seven eclogues of Titus Calpurnius Siculus; the Journey of Claudius Rutilius Namatianus; Quintus Serenus Sammonicus on medicine; Vindicianus or Marcellus on medicine; Quintus Remmius Fannius Palaemon on weights and measures; and the satire of Sulpicia.
