Publisher's original full vellum binding with gilt titles to the spine and the front board. Very clean with only minor darkening to the vellum boards and spine. Lacking the silk ties as is often the case. Signed by Frank Reynolds to the limitation page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Collated, complete with twenty-five tissue guarded tipped in colour plates by Frank Reynolds. The first tipped in plated folded an creased to the bottom right. All other plates in good order. A beautifully illustrated, limited edition of selected pages from 'The Pickwick Papers,' signed by the artist. Selected papers from the first Charles Dickens' novel, with colourful and beautiful illustrations by Frank Reynolds. Signed by the artist to the limitation page, bound in attractive full vellum. The story follows the adventures of Samuel Pickwick, the founder of the Pickwick Club, as he and three other members venture to London to report their findings. Collated, complete with twenty-five tipped in colour plates by Frank Reynolds. xv, [xvi], 174pp. Approximately 12 inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles, usual fading and darkening to the vellum. Joints good condition gently rubbed and worn. Corners good condition gently bumped and worn. Boards good condition original bright vellum with gilt titles and profile of Mr Pickwick in black within a gilt border to the front board. Page edges good condition top edge gilt, others untrimmed and lightly tanned and foxed. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition intact. Paste downs good condition tanned and foxed, small part of the green silk ties laid in. End papers good condition tanned and foxed. Title good condition tanned, colour vignette to the centre.
