Circa 1920s. ***This is the Inscriber's Copy, with violet ink stamp "Inscriber's Copy' stamped to the white title label to the front board. Handwritten in fountain pen ink: 'Long Bennington & Foston', with the printed 'For Preservation in the Parish Chest' crossed out by hand in the same fountain pen ink. Ex-Libris black and white illustrated book plate to front pastedown: ' A. G. Shipley, showing a hand grasping a leafed quill and with a decorative floral border. ***Very good in red cloth-covered boards with a printed and hand annotated bordered label pasted to the front board. Red boards bright. Offsetting to front and rear free endpapers. Spine slightly discoloured. Head and tail of spine slightly rubbed. Spine tight. Pages clean. A few very discreet small pencil crosses and very short lines next to selected names in the register. (Can easily be erased). Spine tight. 222 mm x 144mm. 71 pages. ***Contents: Lincolnshire Parish Registers: Marriages at Long Bennington and Foston 1560 to 1837. ***Extremely scarce original undated, circa 1920s, first edition Phillimore's Parish Register Series. The Marriage Register of Long Bennington and Foston (Lincolnshire). There are no copies of this particular title on COPAC, nor at the time of listing, on ABE. Extremely scarce. For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging materials; any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only; for the UK, our standard rate is for first class, and the priority rate includes tracked (signed for) delivery; for International sales, our standard rate is for Airmail delivery, and the priority rate is for tracked (International signed for) delivery. We would prefer that you choose the priority rate (tracked option) for higher value books of say �50 or more. Please note that we will always reduce shipping fees where appropriate e.g. for smaller (lighter) books when we accept your order.
