This copy is in very good condition bound in black cloth covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. This copy is bright, tight, white and square. There is some wrinkling to the paste downs. The scarce unclipped dustwrapper is sunned to the spine and has some edge wear and a small area of loss to the bottom of the front panel so best described as very good condition, it has now been covered in clear, removable, archival, protective film. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased charges will be quoted. This book is an intimate, authoritative account of one of the greatest and most influential partnerships in English social history. Almost the entire editing of it had been completed by Beatrice Webb when, in 1943, she died. Beatrice Webb left unfinished this planned autobiography, under the general title My Creed and My Craft. At her death, aged 85, the only autobiographical work she had published was My Apprenticeship (1926). The posthumously issued Our Partnership (1948) covered the first two decades of her marriage to Sidney Webb between 1892 and 1911 and their collaboration on a variety of public issues. In the preface to the second work, its editors refer to Webb's desire to describe truthfully her lifelong pursuit of a living philosophy, her changes of outlook and ideas, her growing distrust of benevolent philanthropy as a means of redeeming 'poor suffering humanity' and her leaving of the field of abstract economic theory for the then practically unexplored paths of scientific social research. Laid in is a photograph from an article written by George Bernard Shaw published in the Picture Post September 1941 Ref RR5.…
