His theories were rejected by both Marx and Engels, making Rodbertus "'one of the lost prophets who have been so frequent in the history of socialism'" (Palgrave p. 218). This book was originally published in Berlin in 1850 under the title Sociale Briefe an von Kirchmann. Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, front board lettered and stamped in black. Spine rolled and cracked but holding, spine and board edges discoloured, tips rubbed. A good copy.
