Item description from seller

Beautifully assembled and shot photo album of three male friends' visit to Provincetown, even then an established vacation destination for gay men. Created with evident care (each photo carefully mounted to grey matte paper frames before being mounted on pages), this album documents a visit of three close friends to Provincetown, MA across 27 well composed images. Photos show the three posing at Pilgrim Monument, on the dock of their cabin, fixing their car, with boats, etc. Two images show the friends in warm proximity to each other. Despite the East Coast subject matter, a certain California Weston-ian aesthetic prevails, creating a tender mood that culminates in a pair of remarkable and striking images that close the album: two of the men dancing naked atop a sand dune. A lovely early 20th century album of a likely queer group of friends. 7.5'' x 10.75''. Original black cloth commercial photo album. [50] black photo paper pages with 27 black-and-white photos mounted recto and verso to 15 of them. Most roughly 4'' x 2'', with two larger photos loosely laid in. Minor wear. Some loss to cloth of rear cover. Overall, sound and clean.…
