First edition Orange cloth boards with gilt illustration on front cover. Gilt lettering and illustration to spine, which is faded and bumped and fraying top and bottom.Shoulders are split and frayed. Front and rear hinges are beginning to split Internally binding is strained. Pages are gilt edged and age tanned with occasional foxing. Charming black and white illustrations by H J Ford and eight colour plates, all present. Front free endpaper is detached but present, p xii is also detached with small tears and creases. Previous owner's signature on fep. 8vo. In fair to good condition. Seller Inventory # 5847
