A true first printing, bearing the Scribner s A. The case shows some discoloration, particularly near the spine, and a very minor bump to the bottom edge. The jacket is unclipped and shows some chipping, rubbing, and soiling, all relatively minor. A nice example. 140 pages. 5.75" x 8.25". The Old Man and the Sea (1953) was Ernest Hemingway s (1899 1961) last significant work of fiction. It won him a Pulitzer Prize and was the only book mentioned when the author won the Nobel Prize for Literature the following year. A highly collectible, significant piece of American literature. .
