A beautifully produced edition of a new cat tale from Doris Lessing, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
A short story about an awkwardly loveable old cat who suffers the indignity of becoming a three-legged cat. Avoiding the maudlin and the cloying, this story takes its hold on the imagination with all of Lessing’s renowned skill.
In an earlier collection of stories, ‘Particularly Cats & Rufus the Survivor’, Lessing brilliantly evoked the lives of cats. Thanks perhaps to her reserve and honesty, Lessing has come nearer than any other writer to understanding this enigmatic animal.
