Quarto hardcover with glossy boards; 458 pp. B/w and color figures and illustrations. Tight binding, clean throughout. Very mild edge wear. Near Fine. A comprehensive scientific synthesis of the long-term effects of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, marking the first major book on the subject in fifteen years. Editor Wiens assembles contributions from specialists to examine ecological risks, effects on biota, and the successes and failures of various post-spill studies and cleanup techniques. Provides an even-handed and critical examination of more than two decades of data, serving as an invaluable guide for unravelling the consequences of large-scale environmental disruptions and preparing for future spills.
