See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Exterior shows spotting and scuffing along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Top of spine shows tearing to the cloth. The internal binding of the text pages is tight but the front hinge is cracked in the rear hinge is starting. Pages are toned/darkened due to age and type of paper used but pages are clean. The only handwriting found in the book is at the top of the second front end page where "Pa-Lancaster, 1893" is lightly written in pencil. No other markings noted, nothing torn or loose, no library markings, no bookplates, no other handwriting found. This book is a collection of newspaper articles written by the journalist Robert Risk and contains "sketches of country scenes and ways" written for the young men and women of Lancaster County and contains a collection of poetry, stories, and personal philosophy.

Store description

Yesterday's Book Shop is a small, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in Maryland in 1966 under the name The Collector's Corner, which mainly dealt in older books, stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the main focus became only books and printed matter.

Specialty

First editions, signed editions, limited editions, pre-1950 collectible copies with most being around the turn of the twentieth century and earlier.
