Elegantly bound in contemporary tan calf, the boards decorated with a double straight line in gilt with gilt hashed lines to the board edges, gilt double lines to the spine between the compartments. Green morocco and gilt label to the second, green morocco and gilt label to the third, the remaining compartments decorated with a gilt sun-burst centre tool, marbled endpapers with a bookplate to each volume of Mary Rose Fitzgibbon. Repaired at some point in the past to the hinges. Volume I - pp. title, xxxi, [I (blank)], xvi, 230, 15 aquatint plates, including 2 maps with watercolour wash; Volume II - pp. title, 268, xvi, 15 aquatint plates, including 1 map with a watercolour wash. Offsetting from the plates to the opposite pages but overall a bright, clean set. First edition. Plates collated and complete according to the Explanation of the Prints at the rear of Volume II. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition a little worn. Joints good condition worn. Corners very good condition minor bumping. Boards fair to good condition worn, scratched and faded.
