The first edition of physician and phrenologist Andrew Combe?s treatise on mental illness, which recieved an American printing in 1834 and a revised second edition in 1887. This copy belonged to Sir James Reid, the Scottish doctor who served as physician-in-ordinary to Queen Victoria (for which service he was awarded a baronetcy in 1897), Edward VII and George V.
