12 pages text; 12 pages advertisements. Illustrated buff stapled wrappers. 6 3/4" x 10". The Stanford Sequoia was a literary magazine published by Stanford students every Friday of the college year. Articles in this issue include a memoir of early Stanford athletics by George Bliss Culver, Poetry by C. L. Story and Tom Hodge, A serial story ("Her Major Professor") by Erasmus Kirkwood, among others. An article entitled "Athletics" discusses the upcoming "first Varsity practice game of the football season of 1899" between the University of California and The Olympic Club of San Francisco, and Stanford's upcoming football season under Coach Chamberlain. The advertisements contain wonderful period fonts and graphics. This is a Near Fine copy, now in a clear 4 mil mylar protective envelope. Seller Inventory # 2025
