Cloth with leather to spine which is worn and rubbed, piece missing to head of volume one. Internally clean, slight wear to edge of text-block in volume one (see picture), 68-page Introduction in English, the remaining text in the original Latin. lxviii, 506pp.; 731pp. Measure 22.5cm. x 15cm. John Capgrave (1393 1464) was an English historian, hagiographer and scholastic theologian, remembered chiefly for Nova Legenda Anglie (New Reading from England).
