Brief paragraphs describing the contents and appealing features of 31 books, nearly all to do with fishes / ichthyology. Works covered include Alexander Monro (Secundus) "The Structure and Physiology of Fishes" (1785); William Houghton "British Freshwater Fishes" (1879); Sir Robert Hermann Schomburgk "Natural History of the Fishes of [British] Guiana" (1841-43). E. W. Gudger was the editor of "The Bibliography of Fishes".
