Nonsense by Alan Watts Illustrated by Michel Dattel Produced by Jeff Berner — A Dutton Paperback, E.P. Dutton, New York, 1977 (First Dutton printing) A delightful illustrated edition of Alan Watts's playful Nonsense, featuring whimsical full-color and line illustrations by Michel Dattel throughout. The title page explicitly credits this edition as "Produced by Jeff Berner" — the Bay Area publisher, artist, and Fluxus-adjacent cultural figure with documented ties to George Maciunas, Yoko Ono, and the international mail-art network. This Dutton edition followed Berner's original 1967 first printing under his own Stolen Paper Review Editions imprint. This copy includes a laid-in bookplate personally signed by Jeff Berner, adding direct provenance in his own hand tying this book to its producer. Condition: Pristine. Covers clean and unmarked, spine tight, no foxing or wear, text block clean throughout. A fun and philosophically playful piece for Alan Watts collectors, illustration/graphic art enthusiasts, or those interested in Bay Area counterculture publishing history. …
