A GOOD, clean, tight copy. Contents presented at the Winter Annual Meeting of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, New York, NY, December 1979. From the Preface: "The purpose of this book is to collect a set of papers within one volume that apply analytical methods to solve physical problems. This book will make as many references as possible to Volume I which presented many of the fundamental techniques that will be applied in this volume.".and. "Part II presents ten papers on the application of equivalent linearizations to nonlinear systems. The first three chapters treat the problem of finding unforced periodic oscillations or limit cycles in nonlinear systems. The fourth and fifth chapters apply harmonic analysois to forced nonlinear systems including multiple harmonics. The next group of five chapters consider the response of nonlinear systems to random excitation. Techniques which include both stationary and nonstationary statistics as well as both Gaussian and non-Gaussian assumptions are presented." 416 pages. LG7.…
