Fantastic design to the leather covers in olive green and skin tone, with protruding prosthetic eye and metal skull buttons, with gilt lettering to the front and back. The endpapers have a collage of Orwell's eyes, with two hidden compartments to the front pastedown, one hiding an image of Queen Elizabeth, the other George Washington, from their nations' bank notes. The rear pastedown has another hidden compartment which features a leather limited edition statement in gilt. This is copy number 75 of 100 made by Exeter Bookbinders.

Fresh and tidy binding, pages a little toned, a few very faint spots to the edge of the page block, plus a very rare spot to a page, a couple of pages with some marks, a few pages with creased corners. Good plus condition.

Orwell's all time classic, set in a dystopian future where the the repressed population live under totalitarian rule through the use of mass surveillance and propaganda. Terms such as newspeak, thought crime, doublethink, and thought police are first used here, as well as Big Brother. Orwell's work remains as important as ever. Seller Inventory # 001149
