B&W Illustrations; This book is in Very Good condition and has a Good dust jacket. The book is in generally clean bright condition. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping and rubbing. The text pages are clean, but have noticeable generalized toning. The price-clipped dust jacket has several edge nicks , tears, and a couple of small chips. The rear cover of the dust jacket has noticeable ground-in dirt. The reverse of the dust jacket has a large address label being used to repair the top spine end. August William Derleth (February 24, 1909 July 4, 1971) was an American writer and anthologist. He was the first book publisher of the writings of H. P. Lovecraft. He made contributions to the Cthulhu Mythos and the cosmic horror genre and helped found Arkham House, a publishing company which did much to introduce hardcover prints of United Kingdom supernatural fiction works to the United States. Derleth was also a leading American regional writer of his day, as well as prolific in several other genres, including historical fiction, poetry, detective fiction, science fiction, and biography.
