Nicholas is an energetic French schoolboy who is forever in some kind of trouble, and his adventures and exploits are brought to life by Goscinny, the author of the Asterix picture books, and world-renowned illustrator Sempe (1932-2022), who coincidentally was expelled from school for bad behaviour! First published in French as "Les recres du petit Nicolas" in 1961, with a new French edition published in 2002 (from which this English version is taken, here translated by Anthea Bell). Illustrated with charming b/w drawings .
